Tenders. Fingers. Strips.

They come in many names, shapes and sizes – served with sauces, over waffles, between biscuits, creatively breaded, all in one heavenly bite.

And when the moment comes to partake in this delicacy of comfort food, one uniting rally cry will be heard louder than the rest: It’s Tender Time!

This site is dedicated to the journey of experiencing the tastiest tenders – particularly around Omaha, Nebraska, where it’s headquartered, but reaching across the country and even the globe.

We’re talking about everything from fast food to gourmet pubs, grocery stores to arenas. But, let’s be clear: the name of the game is Tender Time, which means no nuggets, wings, popcorn chicken or the rest of the bird (delicious though they all may be).

This is an “equal opportunity” situation, so you’ll find posts covering local restaurant hot spots, fast food, public venues like arenas and theaters, and the best-rated chicken of all – Top Tenders!

These are all measured and rated by the trusty Tender Test.

Above all else, this isn’t really about food reviews as much as it’s an appreciation of a communal menu item. Maybe you’ll be inspired to try something new, or share a round with family and friends.

But let’s get to the reason you’re here. Time to eat!

Why Tender Time?

Some people have burgers. Others, pizza. Maybe Reubens, or even donuts or beer. But for a long time now, I’ve championed the Tender. It’s bite-sized, customizable and shareable. I like to use tenders as my litmus test for a pub, just like I might try the Pad Thai first at a new Thai establishment. I’ve enjoyed hundreds of tenders, and I’m always looking for that new twist.

Now, I know what you’re thinking. The answer is no, I don’t only eat chicken. And yes, I do exercise regularly. Tender Time is a passion project, a hobby started among friends for kicks. I’m here to give you an idea next time you’re in the mood for a little chicken tenderness, and to shine a light on all the ways you can enjoy.
